Da una ricerca effettuata bisogna tornare alla stagione 1995/1996, l'ultima di Carlo Mazzone sulla panchina giallorossa, quando la casella dei penalty concessi rimase in bianco per 24 gare consecutive da inizio stagione fino al rigore concesso e trasformato da Abel Balbo nella 18ma giornata di serie A contro la Sampdoria (3-1 il finale per la Roma) dove l'argentino siglò una tripletta.
